Fatemeh Bahrami is a Registered Psychotherapist and Certified Counsellor with a PhD in Counselling and over fifteen years of experience providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Fatemeh is a full professor in the field of counselling and psychiatry at the University of Isfahan-Iran, an internationally recognized researcher and scholar, and a pioneer in the field of mental health in Iran.

Fatemeh’s passion for advancing an understanding and treatment of mental health challenges has led her to approach her work from all angles. As a researcher, she has published dozens of articles in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, counselling, and psychotherapy, receiving a national award for excellence in scientific research in 2011.
As a professor and clinician, she has taught and trained MA and PhD students; translated key works on psychotherapy from English to Farsi, including all of Sue Johnson’s work on Emotionally Focused Therapy; and supported clients and supervised therapists in private clinics, psychiatric facilities, schools, and university counselling centres. Fatemeh also opened and managed the first psychotherapy clinic in Iran. Her experiences living and working in different countries and cultures allows her to work effectively with diverse families, with an attention to the ways in which culture and migration can influence our sense of self and our relationships.
